You didn't mention in your original post that you had only had this tortoise for 2 days.
Believe it or not some people actualy believe that tortoises are pyramided naturaly, and it comes as quite a shock when they find out that the carapace should be smooth.
When a tortoise shows signs of heavy pyramiding there are often other underlying health issues also, such as poor bone density.
Anyway I simply wanted to point out that this tortoise is showing signs of heavy pyramiding.As you already know that and "the proper diet for a tort of this kind" I guess I needn't have bothered pointing it out :O)
It looks like a female, but at that age nothing is 100% and a guess at best.
