I do not think it is possible to overfeed russians Ihave kept them for a few years now, the main thing with them is that they are active little creatures and wear off what they eat.
weighing is an important factor in horsfields you can tell the amount they eat by keeping a check on this i weigh monthly, it is my experience that they will only take what they need.
try to create a natural feeding area for them I grow nastursiums geraniums sedums strawberries, they love rose petals, and it is fun to watch them search for their own food, long necks taking of the leaves of these plants they have their own basking area horsfields love to bask on a slope also i have put in some cork tunnels where they can hide and climb on top of not to high though or they will fall over, food wise it varies broccoli is rich in vitamins a&d and good for them
spring greens, cauliflower, do not feed spinach peas or (avocados) definate no nos will poisen them as will spinach, peas cause lumpy shells.
