OK, first I thought someone was playing a trick on me and put
a fake turtle out in the front yard under the tree. (I'm up
to 77 "fakes" Sonja! lol) Or worse, that someone knows I have
Ted and dropped of an unwanted pet in my yard. Anyways, I went
out to check and there's a big old box turtle sitting there.
Hmm...what to do? He was only feet from the road, so he couldn't
stay there. I put on some surgical gloves and took a good look
at him, looked all right to me. It was kinda neat, the hinge
part moving though he wasn't too scared an came out often enough
from his shell. He was slightly dirty from digging but looked fine.
I finally put him over in my neighbors yard after talking to him
about it.

Now, you guys know I've got some big snapping turtles in the
stream behind the house, and apparently boxies about. There's
nothing I can do to keep them out of the yard and Teddy roams
all over. What's with the "germs/cooties" factor? I mean there's
only so much I can do, can't put Teddy in a plastic bubble.
Not to mention the skinks, snakes and other exotics that occupy
the area. Just wanted to run this by you guys. It was kinda
cool seeing him, he was bigger than Teddy and very docile. niki
