: I'VE BEEN A HERPER FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS, KEEPING MOSTLY SNAKES AND LIZARDS, AND AM PONDERING THE AQUISITION OF A TORTOISE. I'VE NARROWED MY CHOICE DOWN TO TWO TORTS, RED FOOT AND SULCATTA.
: I'M WELL AWARE OF THEIR ADULT SIZE, BUT I'M ALSO AWARE THAT TORTOISES DON'T GROW AS FAST AS MY PREVIOUS CAPTIVES, WHITH WILL GIVE ME ENOUGH TIME TO ADJUST. WILL APRECIATE ANY INPUT.

A redfoot is a great beginners Tortoise, they have great personalities, grow to a decent size
12 to 15 inches ON AVERAGE, Are omnivorous and
are all around good pets.

The sulcata on the other hand will be a tremendous
burden on you if you don't own a house and have a
big yard ,Or if you live in the north. Sulcata's
grow very big, and are a handful to take care of so if your thinking about owning one, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Actually doing some homework on redfoots
wouldn't be a bad idea either.
