YES!!! That happened with an anorexic Leopard Tortoise from a pet store that I was treating with my vet. It was horrible. Poor thing. My vet put it to sleep shortly after that happened. I would be VERY interested in getting all the details of this case from you to share with my vet. He had never seen that, and he works a lot with turtles and tortoises. If you could email me everything from start to finish I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it!

: Thanks to all who responded. Unfortuantly, my tortoise had to be euthanised today. We treated him aggesivly with injectable baytril, intranasal ciloxan, flagyl and fluid treatment. we took bloodwork and am still waiting for results, but we suspect severe renal failure. An odd uccurance, after his second round of fluids, his body wall began seperating from his carapace. Has anyone heard of this before? we suspect it was because, due to the renal failure, he was unable to process the fluids and this may have caused pressure to build up, making the body wall fall away from the carapace. Once this began, he went downhill fast and we made the dissision to euthanize. Any insight to these occurances or the treatment methods we used would be fantastic!! thank you
