: Emily,
: here is a link to Marissa's care sheet, please read it carefully .
: Once again a 15 gallon tank is too small, there is no way you can provide a heat gradient in such a small enclosed area.
: Glass tanks especially heat up very quickly,a much larger wood or plastic enclosure would be better. Wood best.
: Tortoises need to be able to move between warmer and cooler areas at will .
: If kept at a constant warm ( too hot) temperature they will overheat which leads to all kinds of problems including bladder stones, or death if it can't escape the heat.
: Read the care sheet carefully, it will help you provide the correct care for your sulcata.
: Also scroll down the forum and read all the sulcata posts, you can learn a lot that way also.
: I know this sounds like a lecture, but it's not meant that way at all, we all had to start somewhere :o)
: Let us know how it goes.
: Terry.
Terry Thanks for all the help!! I have taken the heat lamp off and now I am just using the heating pad underneath one half of the tank. She seems to be doing much better and she really comes alive when I take her outside. I was thinking about keeping her outside day and night since it will get pretty warm here. Any suggestions? Thanks
