From what I've read and heard cedar mulch is the best. My hermanns does well on it. It's supposed to be pretty absorbent and doesn't give off any oils on the tortoise. You can get some at any garden center.

I am setting up a large cage for my red foots.I need to know if wood chips from home depot are ok or do they need to come from the pet store. Thank you
