so here is some nutritional info on dandelions -
Dandelion greens:
18.7 % protein - a little high compared to what a desert tortoise encounters in the wild but about the same or lower compared to many grocery greens
11.1% fiber - lower than wild diet, but average with grocery greens
They have a good calcium to phosophorous ration, is lower in dry matter than what is found in the wild, but higher than a grocery diet.
Compared to some grocery green, such as chickory and endive, dandelion is much higher in protein, and is lower in fiber than chickory...not so good it seems...
However, dandelions are far superior in calcium content compared to chickory and endive.
For example, dandelions offer 3.5 times more calcium than endive and almost twice as much calcium as chickory.
