Worms are sometimes present but not seen. usually if you actually "see" the worms there are alot of them (ie-tapeworms). Many times there are no symptoms even but there are worm eggs present and only viewable under microscope. There are other parasites that are only detectable by fecal culture which is usually sent to the lab by a vet. Panacur is used to treat some worms, but not all and not parasites. I'd recommend a fecal by your vet, have him/her do an in-house fecal microscopic exam as well as send a culture to the lab and have the lab check for Hexamita Parva and Giardia as well as the regular screening. That should take care of things...then the vet can treat accordingly. Not a good idea to just does with Panacur...
