I got a reply to the polite email I sent to Tom asking
about the way this tank might look to people. Here's his
reply:

"I never look at the forum. I would if I had time. The
Russians in the tank are crowded for their "drying out period".
The torotises are shipped to us and we soak them in a
bath of duravet-vitamins and electolytes combined
with U.S. chemical 66% metranidazole.
They are somewhat crowded and tend to pile against the front glass
(probably because it is closer to the light sources). They are then
placed in stock tanks. When they are fed, then soaked
they are crowded during: feeding, soaking and drying out
(this is where they tend to defecate). This allows
us to keep them cleaner because we use cypress mulch
which is discarded and fresh replaced so they are not
walking around in their feces or old food matter. When they
are soaked it is in a galvanized or stainless tank/sinks
and the water simply goes down the drain.

I hope this helps explain how things looked. I probably
will not get time to check the "forum" column, but I
would appreciate it if you could forward this to
that area. I also want to thank you very much for
the heads up.
I have been selling reptiles for over 30 years
(but just on the net-Kingsnake for the last 5 months).

Thanks again, Tom"
