:you might want to get that fecal exam, if he has parasites, it might explain why he eats so much. just my opinion on the following, but i would cut back on the soaking to only once or twice a week. russians do not really like to be wet and you would hate to get shell rot. they should get a lot of their moisture from their food. make sure their enclosure in completely dry. are you feeding them things like mustard green, dark green veges, some squashes, dandelion leaves, cactus, etc? check out melissa kaplans care sights (put in melissk in the search engine and you should find it) also try tortoisetrust.org they are great. you can always email me if you want also. i have had tortoises for years although i am fairly new to the russians. our climate here in utah is great for them! lots of luck.
