Hi Craig,
I keep Greeks and the temperature in my area occasionally exceeds 100 in the summer also. When my Greeks experience too many days over 100 they crawl under some bushes or go into their wooden houses (which are in the shade) and kind of shut-down, similar to hibernation (estivate). I've never had any bad experience from this they just seem to wait it out until things cool down. I bought a couple Greeks from a breeder in Arizona (a guy named Kevin) a few years back and he raised them fine in that climate. Greeks aren't the only tortoises I keep but they are my favorite and I would recommend them as a good beginner tort. They don't get too big, like Russians they are very personable and come running over to see you and ask for a hand-out, and (I think) prettier than Russians but also about 3 times more expensive.
