: My point is if you going to feature "the rarest tortoises in the world" P. oculifer is not one. They are fairly common and if you check their range maps you will see they have an extensive range in Botswana and Souh Africa. They are common in the Kalahari and the highveldt. Oculifer is not CITES I. P. geometricus is and is also one of the rarest torotises in the world. Perhaps you all meant geometricus and not oculifer.
