Spider tortoises are very hard to come by and are very expensive and are pretty endangered. I would say "NOT" to that one. Sulcatas can get very very large and need much space..if you don't have space and money..that is not the tortoise for you. I would say a Russian is a good pet or a Redfoot. Cherryheads are more expensive than regulars and need humid setups...if you are a beginner tortoise keeper, go with a single tortoise and learn how to care for it...best bet is to ask you where you live and how much space/time/money you have to devoting to a proper setup for whatever species you choose?
