Just for laughs you should ask your vet " What about if they are moving around on a hot sub saharan day and then stop, wouldn't they be getting heat on their belly then?" Alot of people are split on the heating pad issue for that and many other reasons. I for one can tell you that during the winter I've always had one or store bought heating pads available if they wanted one. I have never been to the vet for a digestive issue.

The main thing I would worry about is to make sure it isn't being used in conjunction with above tank(tub, area)heat.
