A congested sound coming from a baby tortoise could be serious. As far as the elimination process, more information is needed to understand
why it's fecal matter isn't being released as a
very dark, semi hard, long strand.

1. What does the diet consist of?

A brown waste depletion is indicative of a carniorous diet, which is very high in protein and
un suitable for a desert dwelling tortoise. Please
list what the intake is and we will assist you in
making the correct changes. As for feeding, you need to give the tortoise a reasonable amount of
food so that it has the ability to eat at it's own will. By doing this, your in essence teaching
the young captive tortoise, how to be a Geochelone
Sulcata. The only other thing I will tell you is that you should plan on making an appointment at
the vet as soon as you can. If you at all think the congestion is the begining of a respiratory problem, you need to get it rectified fast. They
can cause permanent lung damage.
