Hi Xavier,
The tortoise's shell grows from the edges of each sute, and not from the center. The center of each scute is basically the oldest part of the tortoise. If it grows abnormally, it will always be that way. If cared for properly, the rest of the scutes will then grow outward nice and smooth. There is no way to reverse the growth that has already occurred. I hope that helps! Feel free to email if you have any questions...
