Sammy, Leopards do develop 'pyramided' scutes in the wild. Leopards are primarily grazers in the wild. Their diet consists mainly of grasses supplemented by whatever they will fancey including leaves from trees and bushes and broad leaf annular plants. My adults are fed mainly St Augustine grass suopplemented by store bought greens which include Romain, escerole, endive, kale, green leaf, parsley, Italian parsley, cilantro, water cress, and gratted carrots. I use Centrum as a vitamin supplement once a week and Calcium carbonate at every feeding sprinkled on the food. Cuttle bone is always available. The adults are keep out doors.
I believe the keys to normal bone development is to provide a high fiber diet with a large variety of greens along with plenty of calcium in the form of calcium carbonate with adequate hydration. (leopards really like to drink which is important in flushing the system.)
