sounds like you've made the set up pretty good now. i'm so sorry the little one didn't make it. you might want to watch the other one. usually this kind of stuff is pretty contagious. it's been a while since i had water turtles, but i would try dropping vit a drops on his eyes and also trying to get some inside him. i can't remember what it's called, but there is a solution that comes in about a 12 ounce size bottle, read lables, soak the little guy in it daily. i can look next time i go to the store, but you might want to go look around and see if there is anything like that. it's some type of antibiotic stuff for aquatic turltes. i used to use it once in a while when one of mine got puffy eyes. also, some aquatics have to be under water to swallow, so make sure they have enough water for swimming and eating. keep the water SUPER clean. bacteria builds up fast and will kill quickly. sorry this is so long and rambling and probably not much help, but like i said it's been a couple of years since i had aquatic. the upkeep was just way too much! you can email me if you have any questions, i have a ton of reference books i can look up stuff for you. sonja
