:The way I find out their length is when they're basking I'll straiten him out, put an object at the tip of his snout, and one at the tip of his tail (3'). Mine got too big for a food scale I had so I got a fishing scale and hang a bag under it (3.5 - 4 pounds).
Sounds like a good way to get the length. I have a baby scale that goes to 25pds so I'll try to use that one to get a good weight. I'll have to get a pic up here soon so you can see how big he's gotten.
