Being one of those that keeps these animals as pets/hobby, I'm also one of those persons who is resistant towards reclassification. The current taxonomy is familiar and it _seems_ to work quite well. Can you please tell me which classes my pets would be slotted into under your classification system? I have Elaphe o. obsoleta, both high-black phase and greenish phase; E. o. rossalleni; E. o. lindheimeri; and one specimen that I believe to be an intergrade between rossalleni and quadrivittata.
Where do their offspring fit into your classification if I should breed some of them as intergrades/hybrids? Specifically, what happens if I breed a rossaleni to an obsoleta? A lindheimeri to an obsoleta?
