I've been counting scales on every snake I've come across for a while now, but I still can't make out how temporal scales are defined. Even if I can make out some of the temporals, I can never do so with any degree of certainty. This obviously leaves a gap in all my counts. So if anyone has a clear unambiguous definition of temporals, I'd be very grateful.
