I'm not a Latin scholar by any stretch of the imagination. But as I understand it there are two schools of thought. One is that the stress should always be on the antepenultimate syllable, i.e., the third from the end. The other school says that individual word parts should keep their identity.

Of course, the C is silent.

School one would say "nem-i-DAH-for-us."

School two would say "NEM-i-do-FOR-us."

Take your pick!
