Manthey & Grossmann refer to it as Lamprolepis (inc. sed.) leucosticta. "inc. sed." means "incertae sedis", which means "of uncertain affinities". This does rather suggest that they were the ones who decided to place it into that genus. However, they do not explicitly state this, so it is possible that they "inherited" this placement from someone else.
Hope this is of some help - I don't think I have any other literature available that would clarify this atthe moment.
