I have been involved with the exotic pet trade for 15 years now, and a few years ago I had a very scary experience. I had had a retic for 3 years and kept many other species(tiger cubs, Capuchin monkeys, and various reptiles). One day I came home from work to find my retic's cage open at the top! I frantically searched my house for the 20 foot 200 pound animal, but he was no where to be seen.I quickly checked the cages of my other exotics to find him eating two capuchins at the same time! I tried to wrestle the valueable monkeys away from the snake but it would not let go. He ended up biting me on the arm and I was forced to kill the retic with small pocket knife. This story is quite sad as I lost three extraordinary animals and ended up with many deep lacerations and 52 stitches on my arm!
