What a waste of $166.00!!!

My Desert phase cal King laid 11 eggs on Monday and Tuesday of last week. She'd been in her nest box for four days, so when I got home and saw she was out, I assumed she was done. I didn't see the lump of the last egg till I went to put her log back in her cage. So, I put the empty nest box back in, and covered her cage back up. She still hadn't laid it by Friday, so I took her to the vet. They gave her oxytocin, glucose, and calcium. That cost 83 bucks. They told me to come back in two days if she hadn't laid it.
I couldn't get back in till Tuesday of this week. She still hadn't laid it but it was only an inch away. They gave her the shots again(another 83 bucks) and told me to come back if she hadn't laid it in 2 days. So today when I get home, I go check. Still no egg. I call the vets and set up an appointment for an ovocentesis(?). It's 5 PM. I go to get her at 6, and there the little devil is, with her egg halfway in her MOUTH! Stinker laid it while I wasn't looking, then decided on a snack! So, my snake winds up with a 166 dollar meal(more than I've ever spent on me and the wife for a meal). Oh well, at least I can get her back on a regular feeding schedule. Take it easy everyone, and happy herping!
