: Last night we thawed the turket as we have done for so long. I allow my burmese to roam the house as usual. My turkey is gone and I am proud. My wife is crying still and I cannot get over how he ate it.

---To your wife: sorry to hear about your turkey loss. To you: I do hope that the wrapper was off that turkey you were defrosting or you have a BIG problem on your hands!

I don't have any burms or retics, but we do belong to a reptile club now for 5 years. No large reptile should be allowed the run of the home. Keep it in a room of it's own or there will be trouble one day. Free roaming large burms and retics (and now and again boas) make the papers often enough with tragic results. The last one I read about happened a couple of months ago in Illinois (Indiana?) where one of those biggies got loose and into bed with a pair of parents who allowed a 3 year old child to sleep between them. The big snake constricted the child while they slept (after a party) and couldn't eat him/her so it left. The parents woke to a dead child between them. Not good.
