When I was in fifth grade and thought every snake was a copperhead, I once saw an albino garter snake in my newly-developed neighborhood while I was mowing my lawn. I ran to get a bucket to catch the baby snake "safely," but it was gone when I returned. I also had a friend in the same neighborhood who caught one and kept it for a short time. I have looked in the woods near my house for years and have never found another one. I personally would have kept it. I'm not big on collecting from the wild, but I'm willing to bet that a small albino garter snake has virtually no chance of surviving in the wild. Just my thoughts, I don't intend on making anyone mad.
