sounds kind of like something that happened to me . i went downt to the neighborhood lake lot and i was fishing there. i went over to this one section where there is big sand bags and some rocks. I looked under one of the rocks just for the heck of it and i see an egg!! I had no idea what kind of animal was in this egg. I showed it to my friend who was there with me and guess what?? He dropped it. I was so mad, but what amazed me is a little striped mud turtle crawls out. It was so tiny. I kept it for a few months and decided to release him back into the lake. I had been feeding it minnows so it was used to chasing food and I dont know if it is the same turtle but about 2 weeks ago, I saw a mud turtle down by the dock.
