I used to collect Florida kings commercially back in the 70s.
I wouldn't do it now of course but that doesn't make me a bad guy.
Ted sharing stories of having caught indigos in his youth only reminds us of the 'old days' before the rampant developement.
Whether or not he sold them is now pointless---the habitat and snakes are gone anyway.
