we've all heard stories of enormous softshells and snappers but i believe that the largeest vouchered specimen was a 24 inch female. This does not in any way mean that that's as large as they get, nor do i intend to contradict you, i'm sure that if you are a long-time resident than you know better than me (i haven't lived there in more than 10 years but i visit at least once a year). I just think if there really are bigger ones, they should be recorded to separate fiction and folklore form "fact". This case seemed like a good opportunity to get one documented. Do you know if there are any photos with measurements of these monsters you have seen?
