Is my baby softshell groing fungus or is it a scratch???

I bought a hatching softshell 3 days ago and it now has a little spot on the side of its shell. The spot is not white but a little fluffy and looks like the color of the shell faded a little. Is it possible rocks sold in petshop (for aquariums)could hurt its shell???
I wanted a softshell so bad... now I have it I keep it!!!
