Diane as Chris posted below Turtlehomes.org is a great place that will see to it your turtle finds an home where it will be well taken care of.

If you just want to give the best chance at having a good home I would recommend that you look them up and have them place your turtle. Good luck and I would like to say that it is refreshing to see someone who has the foresight to see that they need to make plans for the future of their animal when it becomes more than they can handle and not just dump it on anyone who wants it.
