Total disgust with Herp Society

I was just lectured by Greater Dayton Herp Society about how I should not get into breeding burmese pythons..."the public is not informed about them when they buy them and WE end up picking them up. NO ONE wants them when they are that big." Well, I wanted to adopt a 12ft burm from them and because I am not part of their society, I am not worthy enough to have the animal. They did not even offer to come see where it would be kept before informing me I could not have her. I just wanna know if all herp societies are like this....?
