Noises?

OK, im sitting here on the computer, and my 7 year old common snapper is across the room in his rubbermaid enclosure...I just heard some noises that apparantly were made by my turtle. They sounded similar to a spectacled caimans warning call (I used to own one). they were made while underwater...I have never heard this in all my years of keeping and studying chelydra. Has anyone heard of this?.
