Steve-- I totally agree with Accomplice and CanidMan! If it fits in their mouth, it's at risk...although I don't think Loggerheads are, generally, as bad as common snappers. John Richards told me that he used to keep Sliders in his Alligator Snapper breeder pond. He used to think it was cute when they basked on the Alligator Snapper heads. Then he started to find shell shards floating around and it wasn't so cute anymore! As a side note, I was down at "Loggerhead Acres" this spring and we set a turtle trap in the neighbor's pond to catch an escapee 120 pound adult male. We didn't catch the Alligator Snapper but we caught a 15 pound Common Snapper. It had a HUGE, V-shaped chunk taken out of it's shell. There's only one thing that can do this: a big, hungry, Alligator Snapper! --Maxx
