Hello

I am finding myself in a quandry. I have a almost 1.5yr old snapping turtle (common). I have had him for a year or so now. He is healthy and fine and I have had no problems health wise with him. The pic Posted by hemicide on February 20, 2003 at 20:50:48: got me thinking.......can I really house my sweetie adquately, or am I better off finding a new owner for him.

I would like to know, just how much space am I going to need for him. Outdoor enclosure is out of question, for a few years, and I am in limited space. I would prefer something natural looking. How fast will he grow roughly? When can I expect him to break the 10-12inch size? I know there are lots of factors involved in this, but basically his diet is pellets (Reptomin and trout) now and then, his tank has constant livefood (not goldfish) and plants, he is quite chubby I think...

He has so much personality and is just adorable........I hate the thought of giving him away. If I do have to give him up, I will not give to anybody, who cannot pick it up (I'm not mailing him) and has snapping turtle experience. Any decision I make will be obviously biased. So I was directed here, when I asked about large snapping turtles, any advice is welcomed.

Pics are on my site

Thanks
