...but I scanned back through your previous posts and saw it was a large male, and it certainly looks large enough for you to be certain, so I didn't suggest it.

I am from MO, and have seen female common snappers out and about in May here, but don't know when they would be in your area, or if they differ substantially from alligator snappers. I am new enough to them (and mine is so smal)l that all research I have done so far was just in caring for them, not in breeding.
