If I can recall, the carapace on that snapper measured about 15in. What happened was, he was in about a foot of mud and I misjudged where his head was. As I went to grab his carapace he bit me. He is not a pet and was released after photos. I had a few lacerations on my right index finger. The doc said that if they were a hair deeper that I would have need a whole lotta stithes. I dont know how he didn't take off my finger, he must have gotten me in just the right spot to where it didn't.
