they need the water. don't let it dry up
separate the snappers from the sliders as the snappers need to have shallow water when they are young.
if the snapper has a soft shell and he is not TOO young, then he is likely calcium defiecent. get him some whole fish, earthworms living in calcium rich soil, and some high quality pellets (stuff them in the fish bodies if you must)
its not okay to let the small turtles be effectively out of the water all day except for two hours.
