That's what it is, not a true skink although they look like they should be. This is one of the smaller plated lizards, they make good pets and for the most part all the ones I've had contact with were pretty calm and docile. Primarily insectivorus although they do like the occaisional pinky mouse. The one I currently have is very alert and observant and shows no fear whatsoever.
