Los huevos de tortugas, al ser puestos al principio son blandos y de color blanco. Conforme va pasando el tiempo se van volviendo duros y si son fertiles siguen siendo de color blanco. Si los huevos no son fertiles adquieren color amarillento.
La epoca de puestas de huevos va desde mayo a septiembre, aunque es raro que pongan tan tarde, pero se pueden dar casos hasta mas tarde todavia, sobretodo en cautividad.
