Many snakes from temperate regions prefer what we'd think of as "cool" temps., or conditions, except when they're digesting a meal. If she's moving around between warmer and cooler areas occaisionally then she knows where she wants to be. If you've got enough substrate down that she doesn't hit the bottom of the tank or other hard surface she'll be okay.

:First, my hot spot is around 85 F. She spends some time there, but not a ton. Most of the time she's exploring or sleeping in the cool hide box (about 70 F). I assume she's fine and if she wanted it warmer she spend more time there.
:Second, she loves climbing. The problem is she likes to wedge herself between the screen top and the lip on the plastic top on the tank. She commonly falls about 11 inches. Will she be ok from that fall? Should I try to block off that lip or add more substrate for cushioning?
