In Reply to: How do I get a good thermal gradient? Some advice please... posted by Nicodemus on March 01, 2003 at 09:29:50:
I have reptile carpet on the bottom of my tank and aspen bedding on top of the carpeting. The hot side reading is on top of the carpet but under the bedding. I use a thermostat which keeps the temp between 86-90 degrees. I've read on here that anything over 90 is too hot. A couple books and web sites I've read also suggest upper 80's for best temp.
