Briefly, when comparing dog breeds, the analogous comparison to snake morphs are just that, morphs within one species of snake, like corn snake morphs. Dog mutts are analogous to corn snake morph crosses. Its amazing how widespread this misinformation is!
Matt
: We are still in the infancy of captive breeding with most species of herps. Dogs, on the other hand, have been selectively bred for various morphs for many generations. Somehow, dog people got over it, we will too.

: Unless you plan on releasing offspring, I don't really thing locality breeding is that important.

: I look on locality animals in the same way I see morphs. They are just a subpopulation within the captive population. Some people want them, others want the best looking ones they can create. It really doesn't matter.

: It is interesting how some localities (Okeetee Corns, Miami Corns) have become synonymous with a pattern morph and no longer represent localities at all. Many others are probably headed that direction.

: Funny how when a "locality-purist" hatches an egg with the first ever albino whatever, he doesn't put it in the freezer to avoid contaminating his locality morphs. Frequently, he switches over and sets up an albino breeding program!
