I feed all my cresteds and leachies for that matter dead crickets, I first gut load the crickets then freeze them. I thaw them out and put rep-cal on the crickets and place them in the tank on baby jar lids (3-5 crickets per crested). By morning their all gone. If that doesnt work, you can feed the cresteds baby food put out by gerber called "hawaiin delight", if you read the ingredients it has a good source of both protein and calcium. I feed my cresteds and leachies exclusively on hawaiin delight along with the occassional cricket and they love it. Trust me when I say I tried all sorts of baby foods including fresh figs and peaches from my yard, and the cresteds always prefer Hawaiin delight. I have not found a better baby food that provides such a good source of calcium and protein all in one jar. Try it you will be suprised ( I have also found that the cresteds will not eat the hawaiin delight with gusto when I add rep-cal, so use a calcium supplement sparingly, remember the baby food already contains a fair share of calcium). If I remember correctly the hawaiin delight contains 8% calcium and 7% protein. Hope this helps.
