Quick question on handling laying females and babies

I don't handle my laying females very much. Maybe once two weeks or sometimes if three weeks. I don't like to distrube them, especially when they are carrying eggs. If I do handle them it is a few days after they lay. I was wondering if it matters? Can you hold them when they are gravid....it might be stressful? I noticed that they are a little jumpy now. I know it is because I am not handling them as much. I feel bad not taking them out but I'm afraid one will jump and hurt themselves while they are gravid or it will just strees them out.

As for the babies.....
How often can you handle babies? I don't want to over handle them or under handle them either. When can you start to handle the baby after it has hatched? In a few days? a week?

Thanks!
Liz
