I've noticed that my juveniles tend to get their adult coloration when the are about 10-15 grams. There seems to be a period when their coloration is not as "vibrant." I'm not referring to the obvious color change between day and night. I've had some that are drab upon hatching (post neonatal shed) and are now some of the most beautiful cresteds in my collection.
