The amount of holes to make if any really depends on the incubator or how you are incubating them. If you have a large incubator with built in water reservoirs and fans blowing over them, you don’t even need a lid. If it is a small hovabator and you have a small container of water in with the eggs then a few small holes will suffice. If you are incubating them without anything (just sitting on a shelf) there should be no holes. Just open the container once a week or so to allow gas exchange. So it really depends on your certain situation on how you go about doing it.
