help out a newbie please!

Okay I'm not a newbie but I am new to crested geckos or any gecko for that matter. I have my cage, it is 2 feet tall by 18 inches square. I am planning on filling it with live plants and I will put papertowels on the bottom. I know that I need someplace for the gecko to hide, but I am not sure what else should go in the cage. I read somewhere that cresties don't need any special lighting, is this true? Any other suggestions would be appriciated.
